La Quercia
La Quercia is a remarkable property situated high in the Umbrian hills with panoramic views over the Niccone valley and the border with Tuscany. It can sleep a total of eight people. It is equipped with modern appliances, central heating, internet access and gourmet style kitchens and provides a very special standard of comfort and intimacy. La Quercia has been cleverly divided into two so that each floor of the house has it own separate entrance with two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms. This makes it particularly suitable for four couples or groups of friends who may want to keep different hours. There are options in the low season to rent just one floor of this lovely property for four people.
The front door into the ground floor accommodation leads from this lovely wisteria clad terrace with large table, garden chairs and furniture.
The front door opens into the kitchen which is equipped with all modern appliances.
A striking stone archway provides the entrance into the living room where there is a raised open fireplace with sofa and easy chairs.
A door from the sitting room leads onto the two double bedrooms. This one has a double bed and ensuite bathroom.
The ensuite bathroom has a bath plus shower. There are French windows lead directly out into the garden.
The other bedroom has two single beds which can be pushed together as depicted here.

The entrance to the upper floor is at the other end of the house and lies at the top of an external stone stairway.
At the top of these steps is a small terrace that affords these lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
The front door opens into directly into a very spacious kitchen with large refectory dining table. This kitchen is equipped with all modern facilities and with marble and granite worktops and a delightful corner fireplace for cooking grilled meats this is a luxurious haven for serious cooking.
An archway leads into the living room with open fire place, sofa and easy chairs. There are lovely views from all the windows.
A door from the sitting rooms leads onto the bedrooms. This one with ensuite bathroom has a double bed.
There are some lovely touches throughout La Quercia exemplified here by this small desk in the bedroom which has internet access for your own laptop.
The ensuite bathroom has a bath tub + shower.
The other bedroom has two single beds which can be pushed together to create a double bed on request.
Throughout the house the furnishings and fittings reflect the style and taste with which the house has been refurbished. |

Guests have the choice of their own privacy in the evenings, but are also able to share some of the living space together when required. The large outdoor dining table at the entrance to the lower floor and the similarly sized indoor kitchen table on the top floor enable all eight guests to dine together and provide a choice of locations!
Located in a lovely meadow on one of the terraces above La Qurcia is this elegant 7 x 18 metre swimming pool.
There is an extensive paved terrace and grassed garden with flowers and shrubs immediately surrounding the pool and a plentiful supply of outdoor furniture. The numerous secluded areas allow you and the guests of the two other properties on the same estate to share and enjoy this superb pool with some privacy. A brief description of these other two properties follows.
This is La Pietra which sleeps up to thirteen people. It is set some 200 metres away above and beyond the other side of the pool from La Quercia and is largely out of sight.
This is Casa Carina which is located some 10 metres to the side of La Pietra. It sleeps two people and can be rented independently or together with La Pietra.
For large family gatherings these three properties together can accommodate a total of 23 people and the owners are able to provide a comprehensive programme for such family gatherings.
