Properties to Rent Arranged by Italian Encounters.
The Location of Our Properties. Most of our properties are located close to the Upper Tiber Valley near the Tuscany Umbria border, just north of Lago Trasimeno and many of these are in the renowned Niccone valley, the valley of castles, centred on Mercatale di Cortona between Cortona and Umbertide. We also have some stunning properties near to Todi in southern Umbria as well. The towns of Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Cortona, Arezzo, Citta di Castello, Orvieto, Pienza, Spello, Spoleto, Todi and Montepulciano, to name just a few of the delightful attractions are all a short drive away. Siena, Firenze and Roma are also both easily accessible as well. Description of Properties. All our properties are located in beautiful rural settings. The photos and descriptions which follow on this page give you a brief synopsis of our properties, their general location, the maximum numbers of people which can be accommodated and also their price grading. Detailed descriptions and extensive photographs of each individual property can be seen if you click onto the appropriate photograph alongside these synopses

Prices. Detailed weekly prices are available on request, but please note that each property description on this page highlights the price grading of the property for a particular season of the year. The prices are generally set for the property itself, irrespective of the numbers of people in your group, but where the layout of the property easily allows it, there are some properties with a choice of rental options for different numbers of people.
Currencies. The currency for payment of most our properties is £ (GBP sterling), though on request it may be possible to accept € (Euro). A few properties require payment in Euros. Exchange rate fluctuations preclude the quotation or payment in any other currency.
Price Grading. For a quick overview the prices of the properties have been graded as follows to indicate the weekly price in the relevant season of the year in which they are available.
LOW ~ Below £1000
MEDIUM ~ Between £1000 & £2200
HIGH ~ Above GBP £2200
Seasons. We have designated these three seasons to which the weekly prices are aligned. The precise start and end dates for any season, for the purposes of the weekly rental price, will be specified on request. There are additional costs for the use of any heating.
Availability.. All our properties are available for rent during the summer months, but not all are available for the other months. To check on the current specific availability please contact Italian Encounters by using the proforma on the page entitled Enquiries or give us a ring. The more details of your requirements you can give, particularly any flexibility with your dates, the better we shall be able to respond with recommendations for you to consider. We pride ourselves on responding promptly to any such request.
Reservations. In order to confirm and finalise any tentative reservation that you make we will send you our booking conditions and also a booking proforma to complete. These procedures are outlined on the page entitled Information, under the Booking Procedures paragraph.

La Torre della Palazzina
La Torre della Palazzina. This "Tower in Tuscany" is a beautifully restored 15th century circular watchtower. Set in the hills of southeastern Tuscany in its own two acres of land with a stunning swimming pool, it has really spectacular views over towering majestic cypress trees to the Umbrian hills on the other side of the Niccone valley. It provides comfortable accommodation for four people all the year around. This unique property with its outstanding views is a real gem and a very special place in which to stay. No children.

La Badiole

La Casella

Casa San Martino
Casa San Martino is a beautifully restored 18th century Umbrian farmhouse with swimming pool that comfortably sleeps eight people. It is located in the much sought after Niccone valley and has stunning views from the terrace and pool over the valley and the villages of Lisciano Niccone and Mercatale and the hills of Tuscany. The house is extremely well furnished with tasteful country antiques and the restoration has retained many of the original terra cotta tiled floors and wooden beamed ceilings. Ginezzo
Ginezzo dates from the 16th century and nestles in the hills of Tuscany with stunning views over the Niccone valley and Pierle Castle. Featuring an old tobacco drying tower the property has been restored to provide really comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people. This is a great place for family groups and with a lovely pool and large mature garden it offers a superb Italian holiday villa in a much sought after location. There is a choice of rental options available for the whole property to be rented exclusively for different numbers of 8, 10 or 12 people.

Il Fienile

Il Fienile is a really pretty little cottage which can sleep up to six people. The property is positioned in the Tuscan hills and has luscious views over an ancient castle and the renowned Niccone valley towards Umbria in the distance. There is a large dramatically sited swimming pool and with comfortable furnishings, an extremely well equipped kitchen, satellite TV and also WiFi this is the perfect holiday spot for a couple seeking privacy in an exceptional place. The property is very children friendly and would also be ideal for a small family. The owners run an organic farm and have their own restaurant a few kilometres away at which guests are entitled to discounted prices! There is a choice of rental options available for up to four people and another rental option for up to six people

Colbiancale
Colbiancale is a lovely secluded property with swimming pool set in a quiet and out-of-the-way Umbrian valley close to the ancient Roman town of Gubbio. Surrounded by a nature reserve, it has magical unspoilt views of green fields and mountains. The overall accommodation is for eight people with six in the main house and two in a small detached cottage alongside which has its own bathroom and kitchen. There is a rental option for just six people in the main house only (the Cottage will not be rented or used by anybody else).

Todi Castle Estate
The Todi Castle Estate close to the medieval town of Todi in southern Umbria, has four stunning properties and Italian Encounters is delighted to have been instructed by the owners. The estate provides the perfect place for individual families or large family groups and is also well suited for weddings and business meetings. The owners have created a successful mixture of an established family run business and the Italian tradition of hospitality. They provide an extensive and professional range of services and facilities in luxurious accommodation and the whole atmosphere of the place allows you to enjoy a holiday here in considerable style and comfort. A total of 19 people can be accommodated in the properties on the Todi Castle estate and each of the individual properties ~ Todi Castle, Pianesante, Villa Cipresso and Campo Rinaldo are summarised below.
Todi Castle
Todi Castle is located in a magnificent setting and provides elegant and extremely comfortable accommodation for thirteen people in seven double bedrooms. This is an exceptional property and the whole style of the accommodation in the castle is akin to a first class hotel. The discreet and efficient staff can provide a complete range of services which includes all your catering needs. There is a rental option for the whole property to be hired exclusively for just eleven people.

Pianesante
Pianesanteis a lovely 17th century stone farmhouse on the Todi Castle estate in the heart of the beautiful and unspoilt countryside that surrounds Todi in southern Umbria. The property has been cleverly divided into two so that each floor of the house has it own separate entrance with kitchens and living rooms on each floor. This makes it particularly suitable for couples or groups of friends who may want to keep different hours. As the name implies this is a house in the sky! There is a rental option for just five people in the upper floor when the lower floor will not be rented or used by anybody else.
