Properties to Rent Arranged by Italian Encounters
The Location of Our Properties. Most of our properties are located close to the Upper Tiber Valley near the Tuscany Umbria border, just north of Lago Trasimeno and many of these are in the renowned Niccone valley, the valley of castles, centred on Mercatale di Cortona between Cortona and Umbertide. We also have some stunning properties near to Todi in southern Umbria as well. The towns of Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Cortona, Arezzo, Citta di Castello, Orvieto, Pienza, Spello, Spoleto, Todi and Montepulciano, to name just a few of the delightful attractions are all a short drive away. Siena, Firenze and Roma are also both easily accessible as well. Style of Accommodation. All the properties are rented on a self-catering basis, though our castle hotel near Perugia and our equally romantic hotel in Montone do provide bed and breakfast style of accommodation. Most of the properties are in stunning rural settings and most have a swimming pool. If they do not have a pool they do have something else special instead.
Description of Properties. The photos and descriptions which follow on this page give you a brief summary of the properties and the maximum numbers of people which can be accommodated. Full descriptions and extensive photographs of each property, including their availability for the various seasons of the year, can be seen if you click onto the appropriate photograph alongside these summaries.

Prices. Most of the prices for our properties are quoted in GBP £ sterling, but some are quoted in Euro €. Payment will be required in the currency that is quoted for each property. Exchange rate fluctuations preclude the publication of the prices in other currencies.
Detailed weekly prices are available on request. We have deliberately kept our pricing system simple and ethical and do not have price peaks for those periods that coincide with school or other festive holidays. In simple terms there are two sets of prices ~ one for the months when the swimming pools are open and one for the rest of the year. The weekly winter prices are generally lower than those in the summer, though the additional cost for using any form of heating in the winter should be noted.
For a quick overview, the prices of the properties have been graded as follows to indicate the highest weekly price in the summer months, or the highest weekly price in the relevant season of the year in which the property is available.
Economic ~ Below GBP £900 or Euro €1300 per week.
Medium ~ Between GBP £900 & GBP £1900 or Euro €1300 & Euro €2800 per week.
Higher ~ Above GBP £1900 OR Euro €2800 per week.

La Torre della Palazzina
La Torre della
Palazzina. This "Tower in Tuscany" is a beautifully
restored 15th century circular watchtower. Set in the hills of southeastern
Tuscany in its own two acres of land with a stunning swimming pool, it has
really spectacular views over towering majestic cypress trees to the Umbrian
hills on the other side of the Niccone valley. It provides comfortable accommodation
for four people all the year around. This unique property with its
outstanding views is a real gem and a very special place to stay.

La Badiole

Ginezzo
Ginezzo dates from the 16th century and nestles in the hills of Tuscany with stunning views over the Niccone valley and Pierle Castle. Featuring an old tobacco drying tower the property has been restored to provide really comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people. This is a great place for family groups and with a lovely pool and large mature garden it offers a superb Italian holiday villa in a much sought after location. The estate provides the perfect place for individual families or large family groups and is also well suited for weddings and business meetings. The owners have created a successful mixture of an established family run business and the Italian tradition of hospitality. Ghironzo

Palombaro is a spacious
stone old farmhouse located on the Umbria Tuscany borders in the magical
Niccone valley. The restoration has retained the charm and elegance of this

facing hillside with views over vineyards, olive groves and woodlands in

Casa degli Archi
Casa degli Archi, for six people, is an independent part of the main farmhouse at Maridiana located
on an estate in the hills of the Niccone valley. Maridiana is now one Italy's
most renowned centres for raising lamas, alpacas and angora goats. Close
to Casa degli Archi there is another house called Il
Casale which sleeps five people. Both properties are sufficiently private
from each-other to rent independently, but at the same time close enough
for a larger group to take both houses together if required.

Il Casale is a detached house that sleeps five people and is part of Maridiana,
a lovely farm situated in the hills of the Niccone valley. Maridiana is
now one Italy's most renowned centres for raising lamas, alpacas and angora
goats. Close to Il Casale there is another house called Casa
degli Archi which sleeps six people. Both properties are sufficiently
private from each-other to rent independently, but at the same time close

a charming two storied small house that has been meticulously renovated

in two double bedrooms with two bathrooms. It is located in Umbria close
