Olivi
Olivi is a classic ancient Umbrian farmhouse that has been beautifully restored with taste and style. Surrounded by its own extensive olive grove it lies in a lovely position in the renowned Niccone valley and close to the medieval hilltop village of Preggio.
This lovely country house has been cleverly designed to provide independent accommodation for three individual families ~ two properties for four people and one property for two people. Alternatively, the whole property is ideal for one large group of ten people. The three parts of the property are called Crinale, Vallata and Il Piccolo. The whole layout allows everybody staying here a great degree of privacy.
The entrance to Crinale, which sleeps 4 people, leads from a flower bedecked terrace with teak garden furniture and sun umbrella, via a small flight of steps and a porch, directly into the spacious and fully equipped kitchen.
The kitchen with 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, fridge and dishwasher and large dining table is the perfect place for the preparation of those lengthy Italian meals.
Separate doors from this kitchen lead to the sitting room and the two bedrooms.
The sitting room has a wood burning stove, easy chairs and sofas. There are occasional tables with lamps, shelves of books and comfortable furnishings that make this a really cosy room.
The bedroom at the rear of Crinale has two single beds with views over the garden. There is an adjoining bathroom with shower, basin and loo.
The other bedroom is at the other end of the property and has a double bed. There is a second and separate adjoining bathroom for this bedroom with a bath+ shower, loo and basin.
One of the delights of this bedroom is its own private balcony terrace with table and chairs and fabulous views over Olivi's garden and surrounding countryside.
Vallata, which sleeps 4 people, has its own independent entrance which leads from this enchanting outside terrace with teak garden furniture.
The front door leads into this spacious sitting room with comfortable easy chairs and dining table.
An external door from this sitting room opens onto a lovely covered terrace on the other side of the house which has great views over the olive grove and surrounding countryside. This second terrace at Vallata provides additional privacy from the other parts of the property.
A spacious kitchen is located next to this sitting room. It is fully equipped with 4 ring gas hob, oven, fridge and double sink.
Another door from the sitting room leads to this bedroom with a double bed. There is an adjoining bathroom with shower, loo and basin.
The second bedroom has two single beds. The window has views to the rear of the property. It shares the same bathroom as the other bedroom.
A few metres away from the main house is this delightful cosy and independent little cottage called Il Piccolo which sleeps 2 people.
A shaded terrace with garden furniture runs along the front of the property from which there are lovely views across the garden and the surrounding countryside. This is the ideal location for those lingering al fresco meals.
The front door opens into the sitting/dining room. Throughout the cottage the furnishings and decoration are simple, but smart, comfortable and practical.
In addition to easy chairs in the sitting area there is a sofa type bed. Il Piccolo is only available during the summer months, so you will probably spend more time outside on the terrace or around the pool than in this room.
A door to the right of the sitting/dining room leads into this bedroom with double bed.

The kitchen is compact, but completely practical with oven, stove and fridge. A door from the kitchen leads into the small bathroom with shower.
The swimming pool at Olivi is located a short distance from the main house and the cottage in a quiet position on a lower terrace of the garden. Solar panels help to raise the water temperature at the beginning and end of the summer season.
There is a plentiful supply of comfortable chairs and sun loungers around the pool for you to laze on and also under this elegant sun shade which is surrounded by banks of lavender.
Olivi has an extensive garden for you to wander around and explore and also this large olive grove which the owners have planted and now cultivate for their own oil.
Olivi is located a short distance from the quintessential Italian hilltop village of Preggio. Famed for its annual autumn chestnut festival and its summer musical festival this delightful village also has a small shop and a great restaurant.
The charming British couple who own Olivi live in the other part of the main house and are able to provide guidance on the local area and assistance as required. They will prepare a first evening meal for you if requested. The whole layout of this lovely property allows everybody staying here a great degree of privacy and independence and you will revel in the ability to indulge in slow, lazy days in a wonderful part of Umbria.
