La Molinella
La Molinella is a gorgeous little house set in the Umbrian hills that sleeps two people. Originally a working water mill it is now the most perfect hideaway spot that will appeal to all romantic couples seeking somewhere very special indeed. This little gem provides exclusivity, privacy and total tranquillity!
The front entrance, covered and laden with wisteria, leads into the cosy and extremely well appointed kitchen with double sink, 5 ring gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A marble topped table provides ample space for dining and food preparation. Elegant terracotta tiles and wooden beams throughout the house give the whole place a warm and welcoming feel.
The eco burner in the corner of the room provides the heat for the central heating system. The external rear door leads out to a delightful covered terrace at the back of the house for those al fresco meals. An internal door leads to a small utility room with washing machine and sink and then onto a loo. Wooden stairs lead up to the first floor and the sitting room.
The comfortable sitting room has a sofa and easy chairs. A selection of books and a music centre with CD player makes this a cosy room in which to relax. There is a divan bed in this room which can be used to accommodate one extra person if required.
La Molinella is available to rent during the months of April and October as well as the summer months. This large open fireplace provides the perfect place around which to gather during the chillier evenings in these months.
Double doors from this sitting room open to the front of the house and a small terrace. Stone steps lead down to the garden.
Further wooden stairs lead up to the top floor and this lovely bedroom with huge double bed. Windows on three sides of the room allow the sunlight to flood in and also a welcoming cooling breeze during the sultry summer months.

To the rear of the house and accessed from the kitchen is the simple rustically covered terrace. This area provides an extensive summer sitting and dining room with BBQ. Most of our guests spend hours lazing, dining and dozing here, if they are not cooling off in the pool!
If you are here in the Spring time you will enjoy the brilliant wisteria that covers one end of the terrace and which competes for your attention with your first morning cappuccino!
The swimming pool is sited on a terrace up and behind the house. The unusual circular shape of this pool further enhances the uniqueness and romantic nature of La Molinella. There are lovely far fetching views from here to the distant horizon and the valley below.
There is a large garden surrounding the house with pretty corners in which to linger. There is ample evidence of La Molinella’s historical heritage as a water mill in and around the garden with the old mill pond and streams on two sides. The garden leads directly into the countryside and a maze of fabulous walks.
La Molinella is an extremely rare example of a small property for just two people with the exclusive use of its own pool at an economic price. It provides a lovely haven for a couple seeking nothing but each others company in the most romantic of settings!
