Col di Marte
Col di Marte is a really charming old Umbrian farmhouse that has been delightfully restored to provide comfortable and cosy accommodation for eight people. It is positioned in a marvellous location in the hills just north of Lago Trasimeno with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. This is a lovely place for a family holiday in a fabulous part of Italy.
| Like all traditional old Italian farmhouses, the main entrance to the property is on the first floor via a short flight of steps. The covered porch here provides the perfect place for watching the sun set over the distant hills. |  |
The front door leads into the sitting room where a wood burning stove set in an old fireplace provides the focal point. With comfortable chairs and sofas this is a cosy family room for those occasions when you are not outside around the pool.

Doors from the sitting room lead to two of the double ensuite bedrooms. The master bedroom at one end of the house has a double bed and the ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin, loo and bidet. There are lovely views across the surrounding countryside from the windows.
The other double bedroom on this floor is at the other end of the house. This bedroom has two single beds and the ensuite bathroom also has a shower, basin, loo and bidet.
The delight of this room is the direct access onto its own private terrace that overlooks the garden and pool. This terrace catches the morning sun and is a great spot for the first cappuccino of the day as you slowly wake to another indolent day of your holiday! There is also access to the garden from this terrace which will allow you to quietly venture down for that early morning swim without disturbing the rest of the household. Alternatively, it provides a special place for all guests to gather in the evening for those pre-prandial drinks!
An internal stone staircase from the sitting room leads downstairs to the kitchen and the other bedrooms on the ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped with a 4 ring gas hob, an electric oven, a wood burning range, two fridge/freezers, a double sink, a microwave, a dishwasher and washing machine.
A corridor leads to the other two bedrooms. Both have two single beds. There is a bathroom at the end of the corridor that has a bath, a separate shower, basin, loo and bidet.

An external door from the kitchen leads outside to the garden at the back of the house and a lovely shaded pergola for all those al fresco meals you will enjoy during the hot summer. |
There is a small mature garden at the back of the house with shaded spots in which to laze and dream!
The swimming pool is positioned a few metres away at the top of the garden. It has some wide Roman type steps that make it particularly friendly for children to use. There are plenty of chairs, loungers and a delightful shaded pergola.
There is a lovely warm and cosy feeling about Col di Marte. It is a great place for a family holiday in a lovely location and encapsulates all ones dreams about an Italian country villa.

Approach Drive: A 1.8 km white track leads from an asphalt
surface public road to the entrance of the property. It is in good condition, but is not suitable for low slung sports
cars.
Vicinity of Other Properties. There are two houses within 100 metres of Col di Marte. They are both hidden from sight from the pool
and garden and do not obscure any views at all. One is occupied very occasionally (it is not rented) and does not
have a pool. The other is unoccupied
and is yet to be restored.
Cleaning. The house will
be cleaned on Wednesday mornings. The
pool and garden will be cleaned and tidied about 3 times a week.
Extra Cleaning Available: On request when reservation is made. Price on application.
Parking: There is plenty of space for cars to park on
the premises.
Animals / Pets on or near Premises: None.
Linen & Towels: Linen and towels are provided and these will
be changed for clean ones at the end of each week.
Towels for Swimming Pool Use: No
House Book: A comprehensive house book is provided.
Assistance: The key holder lives close-by and is on call
to help for those unusual events and circumstances that cannot be resolved
by reading the house book.
