La Capanna
La Capanna is an enchanting little cottage set in the Umbrian hills with stunning far reaching views over the Tiber Valley. It has been carefully restored with oak beams and terracotta floors and tastefully furnished to provide really cosy accommodation for four people.
The walled terrace bedecked with pot plants and pink wisteria in front of the cottage provides stunning views over the surrounding countryside and this is the perfect spot for lazing, indulging and afternoon snoozes.
The warm balmy summer evenings make this a great place for candle lit dinners as well.
Glass fronted double doors lead directly from the terrace into the large reception room with easy chairs dining table, TV and music centre. The open fire place provides the focal point for those cosy winter evenings. Doors from this main reception room lead to the bedrooms.
This bedroom has a double bed.
The other double bedroom has two single beds which can be configured into a double bed if requested.

The small kitchen is well equipped with fridge, cooker and plenty of workspace. There is a washing machine in a utility room immediately outside the cottage. |

La Capanna sits within a lovely three acre garden and there are fabulous walks directly into the surrounding countryside.
The lovely tiled swimming pool is located on a terrace in the garden up and behind the cottage.
Located a few metres away and at a slightly lower level down some steps from La Capanna lies La Cantina which sleeps 4 people. The walled terrace surrounding La Capanna provides almost complete privacy between these two properties and they are sufficiently secluded from each-other to rent independently, but at the same time they are close enough for a larger group to take both houses together.
The British owners live in upper part of the neighbouring main house and this photo shows the whole property with La Capanna to the left, La Cantina on the lower floor of the main house on the right with the pool at the top of the garden.

The British owners are a retired vet and a SRN and they have an eclectic collection of animals. You will probably meet some of them ………….. and inevitably some or more of their cats! If required the owners are able to provide comprehensive assistance to you as guests whilst staying here. This assistance includes meeting and greeting you at the airport, excursions to view some of the magical sights in the surrounding area, guidance on shopping, advice on the best local restaurants and arranging hotel accommodation. They have a diverse and assorted collection of cars which they use for some of these jaunts. All details about these cars and outings can be obtained direct from the owner when you make a reservation!
The garden is fenced and secure and these gates, guarded by two medieval griffons, lead into the private driveway where there is plenty of space for cars to park.
The location of this lovely property close to Lago Trasimeno and the Tuscany border makes it ideal for visiting the celebrated Italian towns of Perugia, Assisi, Siena, Cortona and Gubbio and many other less well known gems as well. Firenze and Roma are also easily accessible for a day’s trip.
Alternatively, you could well be tempted to just remain lazing on the terraces and at the pool and enjoy these stunning views. Whatever, your choice both La Capanna and La Cantina are great places for a family holiday amidst the glorious Umbrian countryside.
