La Cantina

La Cantina, which sleeps four people in two double ensuite bedrooms, consists of the whole of the lower floor of this house. There are stunning views from the covered terrace across the Umbrian hills towards the Tiber valley.

A short flight of tiled steps lead down to the covered outer terrace in front of La Cantina. Garden chairs and tables here allow guests to enjoy al fresco eating and lazing.

The entrance to this delightful and spacious property leads directly into the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is well equipped with single sink, 4 ring gas hob, oven and fridge/freezer. The dining table can easily seat up to 8 people.

A door from the dining area leads into one of the bedrooms with double bed. The ensuite bathroom with shower, basin, bidet and loo is at the far end of the room.

An archway leads from the dining area into the sitting room at the other side of the property.

This is a lovely spacious and light room which is tastefully furnished with local antiques.

A door from this sitting room leads into the second double bedroom.

It is possible to configure the bed in this bedroom to either two single beds or one double bed.

The ensuite bathroom located directly off the bedroom has a shower, basin, bidet and loo.

La Cantina sits within a lovely three acre garden and there are fabulous walks directly into the surrounding countryside.

The lovely tiled swimming pool is located on a terrace behind the main house.

Those balmy sunny days may well tempt you to enjoy this pool in the evening as well!

Located a few metres away from La Cantina lies La Capanna, which sleeps 4 people. The walled terrace surrounding La Capanna provides almost complete privacy between these two properties and they are sufficiently secluded from each-other to rent independently, but at the same time they are close enough for a larger group to take both houses together. The reception rooms in La Cantina are large enough to accommodate 8 people should two families want to dine or gather together.

The British owners are a retired vet and a SRN and they have an eclectic collection of animals. You will probably meet some of them ………….. and inevitably some or more of their cats! If required the owners are able to provide comprehensive assistance to you as guests whilst staying here. This assistance includes meeting and greeting you at the airport, excursions to view some of the magical sights in the surrounding area, guidance on shopping, advice on the best local restaurants and arranging hotel accommodation. They have a diverse and assorted collection of cars which they use for some of these jaunts. All details about these cars and outings can be obtained direct from the owner when you make a reservation!

The garden surrounding the property is fenced and secure and these gates, guarded by two medieval griffons, lead into the private driveway where there is plenty of space for cars to park.

The location of this lovely property close to Lago Trasimeno and the Tuscany border makes it ideal for visiting the celebrated Italian towns of Perugia, Assisi, Siena, Cortona and Gubbio and many other less well known gems as well. Firenze and Roma are also easily accessible for a day’s trip.

Alternatively, you could well be tempted to just remain lazing on the terraces and at the pool and enjoy these stunning views over the Tiber valley. Whatever, your choice both La Capanna and La Cantina are great places for a family holiday amidst the glorious Umbrian countryside.
